Extinction Ledger
Where Avoidance Keeps Score
The weight of loss, tallied in silence, knowing, but not yet facing. This series blends ecological data with pressed natural materials to reflect the many forms of biodiversity loss across Aotearoa. Bark and dried leaves and flowers sit alongside records of extinction, decline, and emotional impact, offering a quiet, grounded ledger of what has vanished and what remains.

Each frame invites viewers to confront not only environmental facts, but the grief and responsibility carried within them. These are not just numbers. They are memory. They are ecology. They are legacy. What we avoid still accumulates. What we choose to face can still change the outcome.
